Anyone wishing to have their child baptized should contact the parish office to set up a time for the baptismal preparation class. Required documents for baptism include a copy of the child's birth certificate, a Parish Baptism Form and a certificate of approval for Godparents.
At Sacred Heart, First Holy Communion is typically received in the second grade. Any student wishing to receive First Holy Communion must be currently enrolled in the Faith Formation program (maintaining an 85% attendance record for two consecutive years), at least 7 years of age, in second grade or higher, and have participated in First Reconciliation preparation and reception. First Reconciliation preparation is offered immediately before First Holy Communion preparation. Required documents for First Holy Communion include a copy of the child's baptismal certificate and the Parish First Communion Form.
Confirmation preparation begins when Sacred Heart students are in the 8th grade. Qualifications for Confirmation require the students to have been enrolled in Faith Formation for two consecutive years, which can include the 8th grade. If students have not been enrolled in Faith Formation at Sacred Heart they must meet with the Director of Religious Education to discuss proper placement in the program. Required documents for reception of Confirmation include a copy of the child's baptismal certificate, a sponsor verification form, and a Parish Confirmation Form.
